Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the Lynchburg City Cemetery. I added and enhanced the background to give her an enchanted look.

Time

This photo was taken in the morning....we knew it was going to be a hot day and wanted to take advantage of the early sun and the coolness of the morning.

Lighting

When you take pictures outside, you need to start early in the morning or just before dusk. You will work twice as hard during the day and more prep time at the computer.

Equipment

Canon 70D

Inspiration

I always wanted to take a maternity picture. Ashley was gracious enough to meet me at a cemetery early in the morning. I made the maternity gown the day before the shoot and it looked fabulous on her.

Editing

I like the old look I had at the cemetery but wanted more of an enchanted look so I completing altered the background. I added shadows on the backside of the model and casted a shadow on the ground to give her a more authentic look.

In my camera bag

I really have enjoyed my 85mm lens. I take it everywhere with me...but I sometimes take my 28mm wide angle lens.

Feedback

Practice, practice, practice...It is like riding a bike or learning a language...the more you do it...the better you will get.
