Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at my parents home in Lae, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea. I love photography and have recently just started taking pictures so when I saw this burning coconut, I thought it would make an awesome image and it sure did!

Time

This image has a reason for being one of my personal favorites and that has to do with the time it was taken. The evening was cool, not so much wind movement which ensured that the flames were given the shine it deserved and the smoke was notably visible in the image.

Lighting

The image itself looked incredible on that dull but cool evening. I didn't really need so much lighting for this particular image.

Equipment

This shot was taken with a my secondhand Canon EOS 1000D using the 75-300mm lens.

Inspiration

I love photography and have always had an edge to transform simple everyday objects into awesome images- makes us really appreciate the simple things in life.

Editing

Nope

In my camera bag

As I am only starting out, I only have my Canon EOS 1000D coupled with a 18-55mm and 75-300mm lens. Latest cameras and lens are very very expensive in my country but I hope in time I can be able to have a dream Canon EOS Rebel T6i DSLR or a Nikon D810 DSLR.

Feedback

Being a beginner, trial and error moments always occur but I've learnt that there will never be a perfect moment unless you take the moment and make it perfect.
