A friend had told me there was a nest with two Mocking bird chicks in her garden plot, located in a specific tomato plant. She had sent a photo from this past Saturday to me showing the two of them in the nest. No chicks in the nest today... they fledged sometime between this morning and Saturday afternoon.
The one fledgling we found was tucked away deep in some foliage. We did not want to get too close and cause stress to the little bird, so we did the best we could threading the needle thru the foliage without moving any branches or leaves. I was standing approximately five feet away from the bird, standing on a path that runs thru the various garden plots when I took this image.
One of the adults was waiting with a snack, and our presence kept it from feeding the fledgling, so we took a few images then backed off and let them be.
