Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in a small creek inside the forest, close to Chitignano, a small village in the province of Arezzo, Italy

Time

In that day, I was walking inside the forest through the various creeks, to study fish and aquatic plants, becouse I like freshwater life, when I saw a beautiful dragonfly on this wood. I remember that was really difficult, becouse as soon as I tried to walk up the dragonfly, it always flew away and after a cup of seconds it returned in the same place. At the and, after 15 minutes, I did it. This was taken on August 13, 2016 at 3:11 PM

Lighting

The light was a serious problem, becouse the trees, moving, were changing the reflexes in any direction. So I had to take the photo very quickly.

Equipment

This photo was taken with a Nikon D5200 camera, with a 18-105mm f/5,6 lens.

Inspiration

Just catch the moment.

Editing

I didn't do any post-processing.

In my camera bag

I normally have my Nikon D5200 with two lens nikkor, a 18-105mm and a 18-55mm. The tripod that is always a good friend and some filters, like UV and ND.

Feedback

When you are in a forest, the light changes everytime, so you must have patience with your camera if the first photos are not exactly what you were planning to do. And this small animals will never stay in the same position for a long time, so you have to be quite and move your body very slowly. Just remember, carpe diem, catch the moment. When you see something that you like, never think that you will find it later.
