I took this photo on a very clear night from my best friends nans house whilst we were in Hampshire.Time
It was about 10pm, we were just sat around inside and we were told that the moon was full so we both went out with our cameras and started taking photos!Lighting
Because of the moon being so bright it was fairly difficult to focus, but once it did it worked really well.Equipment
I used my Canon Power shot SX410 IS, it has an amazing zoom so taking pictures of something so far away is relatively easy. I don't have a tripod so keeping the camera steady was difficult at such a high zoom, but with a tripod, it would have been much simpler. I didn't use a flash at all however by using it you can produce very clear pictures.Inspiration
my inspiration was mainly based on my want to take new, different photos for my Instagram photography account (@geography_photography_). I like to post regularly so taking a photo like this was really valued.Editing
After taking the picture the markings on the moon were very faint so I used 'picsart' to enhance it and make them stand out more, i find that picsart is really easy to use and works really well for most pictures. In my camera bag
I haven't been into photography for long so the equipment I have is very minimal, it's simply my just my canon camera.Feedback
If you wanted to capture any pictures of the moon its best to wait for a very clear night so your pictures don't get obscured by any clouds, finding somewhere with a clear uninterrupted view is also very important. Using a tripod is probably the easiest way to keep the camera steady with the moon in frame. My camera hasn't got as many modes as more advanced cameras do but I took this photo using the live setting as I found it easiest to focus at such a high zoom, but I also found that the auto mode worked well for more zoomed out shots.
