Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in my parent's backyard, the day my new puppy and their new puppy met for the first time .

Time

It was mid afternoon, it'd had been a long day but that all faded away with the excitement of two puppies meeting for the first time.

Lighting

It was a crisp, sunny afternoon, the lightning was naturally very kind to me and my camera that day.

Equipment

Nikon D3100 and my Nikkor 200mm lens

Inspiration

I was captivated by how their personalities were blazing through within the first minutes of their introduction. I wanted to freeze the moment when I knew for sure what role both dogs would take in their friendship.

Editing

I decided to mess with this one as little as possible, I lightened it a little and heightened the contrast. I wanted to keep it as simple and pure as the subjects themselves.

In my camera bag

I always have my Nikon D3100 and my go-to 200mm lens

Feedback

When shooting animals, puppies especially, it is truly best to sit some distance away and let them be themselves. The best images are the ones that capture the playfulness and uniqueness of each dog.
