Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken on the Boardwalk in Ocean City, NJ. Our family were down there to enjoy the beach, the rides and some shore food.

Time

It was taken at 8:42 PM while I was sitting on a bench waiting for the girls to come back from shopping. This young man just walked up and took out his violin and open his case for contributions and began playing.

Lighting

The night was closing in on us quickly and I just thought I would try and quick shot. I really didn't know now it would turn out.

Equipment

I was using my Nikon D750 and a f2.8 20.0-70.0 Nikon lens. The shot was taken at f 2.8 / 52.0 mm / 1/50 / ISO 320.

Inspiration

I had been listening to him play for a while and just thought I would try to capture the mood of the evening.

Editing

Clearly the lighting was not great so I had to correct colors and work on enhancing the brightness and contrast.

In my camera bag

Normally I have both a Nikon D750 and a D500 camera with me when I go out. The lenses I use the most are the Nikon 14-24mm f 2.8, 24-70mm f 2.8, and the 70-200mm f 2.8.

Feedback

I was simply in the right place at the right time. Thankfully I picked up my camera and shot a picture.
