Behind The Lens
Location
I took this photo in my shaded backyard on my hammock.Time
It was about 2 hours before sunset on a warm spring day.Lighting
It was still well lit as it wasn’t sunset yet, but the sun was just peaking behind my house giving a nice soft lighting effect in the backyard.Equipment
Just my Cannon Rebel camera with the normal lens.Inspiration
Capone was enjoying the yard so much that day. I had just done a lot of yard work and just freshly cut the grass. He was running around all over the place like a young puppy exploring a new place. I sat down in the hammock to take it all in and enjoy watching him. He ran right up between my legs as I sat on the hammock, smiling ear to ear like he was the happiest dog on the planet at that moment. I couldn’t resist trying to capture that smile.Editing
Yes, I punched up the saturation of the oranges and browns in his fur. He is getting to be an old man, so his fur isn’t as bright as it used to be.In my camera bag
I keep two cannon rebels, two regular lenses, one zoom lens, and 3 filters I rarely use. I try to keep it more natural with my photography. Aside from that it is all memory cards and extra batteries.Feedback
This was simply good luck. The tight time of day fit my backyard and my dog having to much fun at the exact time. I only wish I could have caught him without my legs in the photo as well, but he chose the spot for this shot.
