I remember walking down the beach at sunset taking some pictures as the sun was setting. As I approached the pier the sun had already gone down it was almost 9 pm and I noticed the glow from a single light under the pier illuminating the waves below. This photo was take July 31, 2013 8:48pmLighting
The light used in this photo was a single bulb hanging from beneath the pier casting a greenish glow on the waves below. The lights that are along either side of the top of the pier on were on, casting the light down to the ocean on both sides of the pier.Equipment
I used a Nokia Lumia 928. No flash or other equipment was used in taking this photograph.Inspiration
I was just walking down the beach taking pictures as the sun was setting. When I got to pier and saw the waves glowing beneath the pier and it prompted me to take this picture.Editing
No, but after reviewing this picture I did go back and try and recreate this scene but I could not. The timing and lighting along with the tide just made this first picture perfect. In my camera bag
I have my Canon t3i body with a Tamron 18-200 mm lens. This combo works perfectly for me considering my love for capturing beauty in our landscapes.Feedback
It was all about the lighting and the timing to make this picture in sync. Sometimes you have to sit and wait to get that perfect shot and sometimes you just walk up on it. So have your cameras ready so you don't miss out on a awesome opportunity to capture greatness.
