This photo was taken in Bagan, Myanmar, in one of the temples in Old Bagan. We were walking around the temple and heard the soft chanting voices. As we turned the corner we faced this group of novices praying. It was a very special moment.Time
It was in the morning hours, as the heat gets unbearable in Myanmar you have to start the day early and take a break for the hours around noon.Lighting
I have only used natural light for this picture. I was inside the temple and the novices were facing the altar, with their backs to the entrance door. The sunlight was shining in through the door from behind them.Equipment
This picture was shot on a Canon 70D with an EFs 18-135 lense from my hand. I did not have too much time, as it was a spontaneous shot.Inspiration
It was such a magic moment. The soft chanting, the perfect light and these beautiful innocent faces just made a perfect composition.Editing
I just had to make some slight adjustments to the picture. Make the colours more vibrant, crop it right and have some vignetting on it.In my camera bag
I always have with me my camera, a Canon 70D with a travel lense (18-135), a polarizing filter and a small tripod. Lately I also carry around a 150-600 lense from Sigma, as I am on the road in Southern Africa, where you never know when it comes of use for a good "wild" shot.Feedback
You have to be ready for these moments - they can happen any time, you can not plan it. Be ready, keep your eyes open and shoot! :)
