I was traveling in North Kolkata while I saw a statue over a very old house ........ I was standing on a road from where it looked like a man and the trees and the birds fulfilled my wish what I wanted to do with that statue! It was like the *life* that was flying away as the birds and the man(though it was a statue) was begging for his new life.

Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photograph in North Kolkata, India.

Time

It was around 12 noon.

Lighting

It was cloudy totally, so I got an advantage for the background already from the white (grey as well) clouds.

Equipment

I used Nikon D5100 with its normal Kit lens (18-55mm VR lens)

Inspiration

I was standing on a road from where it looked like a man and the trees and the birds fulfilled my wish what I wanted to do with that statue! It was like the *life* that was flying away as the birds and the man(though it was a statue) was begging for his new life. I symbolized and related this birds and the statue to LIFE.

Editing

Yes, I did some post processing. But, it included only contrast and the RGB curve. Then I turned it into normal black and white. Nothing else was done to this photograph.

In my camera bag

I carry only the Camera (Nikon D5100 with the kit lens) and a lens hood (not always).

Feedback

Though I'm a beginner photographer, I'd say that first of all keeping our eyes open would help the most, then secondly the thought regarding the photograph should be strong enough. In the case of handling the camera always use manual mode(shutter speed around 1/250 to 1/800 regarding the light, one may use F-stops as well for better depth of field).
