Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the sister isle of Trinidad : Tobago. I consider myself an amateur photgrapher so every photo I take is a new experience for me.

Time

This was taken on the 22nd of July at 6:17pm. It was taken as the sun was about to set; a group of friends and I rushed to Fort Bennet, Tobago just to watch the sunset that day. It is one of the most beautiful times to take a photo other than capturing one at sunrise.

Lighting

The contrast of the glow from the sunset to the silhouettes of the island, boost the light that is reflected onto the water.

Equipment

It was taken on Canon EOS Rebel T5. 18-55mm f/5-32 lens.

Inspiration

Sunsets always mark the end of the day, the end of a moment but also the beginning of something new. This moment was inspired since not every sunset is the same and each moment the sun sets to mark the end of the day, the sun rises somewhere else to start afresh.

Editing

As an amateur photographer, I'm new to post-processing. For this sunset picture, I only tuned it by increasing the shadows so that the island silhouette would be pronounced compared to the sunset reflection.

In my camera bag

My bag is packed with Canon EOS Rebel T5. 18-55mm f/5-32 lens. 75-300mm f/4.2-32 lens

Feedback

Be spontaneous and take multiple pictures of every moment because in any one of the pictures could have the one that makes you go, "Wow that's what inspired me to take the photo in the first place!"
