Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in Bloemfontein, South Africa. On a Quarterhorse Stud Farm.

Time

Late evening. Sunset. Summer evening at about 18.30 to 19.00

Lighting

I call it my lucky shot. I find that my best pictures taken into the sun was at the last minutes before the sun sets.

Equipment

I used the Nikon D3300 with a 55 - 200mm lens. No flash, no tripod.

Inspiration

I was doing a Portfolio shoot for the Stud farm owner.

Editing

Yes, I did very little postprocessing in Bridge and Photoshop. Did a bit of noise reduction. Cropped the image.

In my camera bag

I only have my camera, 55 - 200 lense, 18 - 55 lense, a tripod, extra cards and an extra battery.

Feedback

You need to be patient. If you don't get the shot first time around.....Don't give up. Try again!! Always be ready for that perfect shot. Don't stop the shoot while the sun is setting. Go all the way until it is dark. You only have a few seconds available.....use it. Most of all, believe in yourself and enjoy the moment.
