These Pelicans were photographed on the Missouri River behind the Toston Dam. This photo speaks to me of human nature in that people often judge others in ways that show their own blindness. Here, it looks as if the two Pelicans on the left are viewing the Pelican on the right with some disdain - as though they are better looking or otherwise superior to the Pelican on the right. In fact, the Pelicans all look and behave alike. Such is often the way with people. It brings to mind an old saying, "Oh for the gift that God would give us, to see ourselves as others see us." I like this picture for more than just being a picture of Pelicans - it works as an analogy regarding the nature and behavior of human beings.
