Location
This photo was taken in a park near my hometown. We had a bottle of water handy and she was up for anything. I am a self taught photographer so I love to experiment. This is one of my favorite shots.Time
This was a last minute shoot. I had been scrolling through social media and spotted this beautiful girl. I have actually never done this before but I asked her if I could do a photography session with her. The sweetest girl. We met at a park with all of our kids (6) around 5pm. Crazy that we got any shots let alone this one.Lighting
The ideas for images are rarely planned out in advance. The shoot as a whole somewhat is, like what I want to accomplish. But most of my ideas come as I'm in the moment. I wanted the lighting to represent sunset beachy vibe. I think it came out as it shows some pink undertones. Some were natural colors and the rest I did in Photoshop. I love the dramatic, romantic and fierce look this gives out.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon 70D and Canon 50mm prime lens. This is my go to lens for majority of my work. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
I was in a park in the middle of the city and the lighting made me think of a beach! (Ha) So at that moment I thought mermaids. I wanted to get the feeling of a mermaid coming out of the water. So we took that giant bottle of freezing water and poured it all over her head. She was a trooper and up for anything.Editing
The only post processing I did was sharpen some spots and add some pink undertones. Her eyes are all natural beautiful blues. She is very blessed. In my camera bag
I always carry my Canon 70D my 55mm lens and my Canon 1.2 70-200mm. Those lens's go everywhere with me. It's hard to not take a good sharp picture. I also have my flash and a tripod.Feedback
If you were to try to catch something similar I would recommend bringing a gold reflector for the warm tones. Here in Michigan the weather changes rapidly so it's always best to be prepared for overcast. Have some sort of water source on hand to drench the hair and have a willing client. :)
