Location
This photo was taken in the Roan Highlands, Tennessee along the Appalachain Trail on my "thru-hike" (complete hike of 2189.1 miles from Georgia to Maine). This spot is up above treeline so you get to see a 360 degree view all around you. I feel like I couldn't have come to this spot at a better time or better day.Time
Me and my two thru-hiking friends, Ryno and K-Train left the shelter before daybreak to start our day walking the trail. The entire morning before dawn up to this point and beyond was just magical. It remains one of my favorite spots on the entire Appalachain Trail and I always tell people about this morning when they ask what was my favorite place.Lighting
I was caught stunned by the sunlight as the sun came up over the far mountain. I must have spent almost an hour basking in it and trying to capture it with my phone, taking shots all around me.Equipment
This was shot on my iPhone 6 in "panorama" mode.Inspiration
I think the golden color of the grasses, the light breeze, and the sun at eye level prompted me to take the shot. I was really just trying to capture the feeling I had at the time so I could remember it.Editing

When I see the sun at eye level, I know it's time to break out the camera because all the shadows and colors look amplified.
