Attended a course on Creative Photography. As the students starting assembling their equipment there was the usual Nikon and Canon presence. The instructor looks at my camera and says "it's a little worn and it's only an APSC sensor" he adds "if I want to get good shots, I should get a full frame". He then starts the course off stating "we're not sculptors and can't create art from a plain rock" I was kind of peeved over the comment about my camera, so I took this as a challenge. At the end of the day the students voted on the best shot. This one received the most votes. The instructor asked me what I was trying to portray, I said "A simple rock as art" He called me a Wise Guy. That means like OG... right?

Awesome, Devin. Way to go!!! Some of my photos are made with a small tablet, and a good number were made with a small Fuji bridge camera. Then I graduated to a Canon, and now Sony. Still haven't reached full frame, lol. This is beautiful. Keep it up. Real photographers know it's the photographer, not the camera.

95% of my photos are from the window of my moving semi with a $200 camera or my canon sure shot. We make art with what we are given.

This capture is beautiful and I can understand your frustration with the Instructor. We can create Art with any size sensor - so glad you showed him that we can be creative and make fine In Camera Captures. I don't think he was being very encouraging - but maybe he measures excellence by how long his 'lens' is too.

This is a beautiful shot. It is even better knowing the story behind it, thanks for sharing both.
