Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken on a hike I took at Hahns Peak in Colorado. My Daughter and I did this 2 hour hike that was a 1700 feet elevations gain, it took us longer then I thought but I got this amazing pic because it took so long.

Time

Late in the day at about 7pm, sunset.

Lighting

All the light I needed Came from the sun, I just got the opportunity to capture it.

Equipment

I used my canon 6d with a canon 50mm 1.4

Inspiration

It was beautiful so I took the shot, very beautiful.

Editing

I had to correct the white balance, and do some exposure correction.

In my camera bag

I usually carry a variety of lenses 14mm, 28mm, 50mm, 85mm, 100mm macro, 70-300mm. Along with some filters, hoods, batteries and tripod.

Feedback

You have to be in the right place at the right time but sometimes you have to be in the wrong place also. Many times I have been in the right place but It wasn't a good shot or a storm rolled in. Reparative and consistent placement will get you the shot you want.
