I usually like to take photos at sunset because the light is nicer then but I loved how flat the water was and how it reflects the clouds and the blue sky.Equipment
I used my Sony A7r, handheldInspiration
I was inspired to take this photo because I really loved the reflection of the sky in the water and I thought that contrast of the orange tree and the blue of the water was very interesting. The water formed a perfect mirror to reflect the sky so that was definitely something that I wanted to use.Editing
Yes I did a little bit but really not much as the overall photo communicated very well the feeling I had when shooting this photo. I went into Lightroom where I do my usual retouching but I didn't go crazy on the colors or effects on the photo. In my camera bag
I always have my Sony A7r with me and I try to have my tripod if I know I am going to shoot a sunset or a long exposure or a timelapse. Otherwise that is pretty much it depend on the situation.Feedback
I think it is very important to be aware or your surrounding to see what other people don't see, the photographer really highlights parts of the world where people didn't look or didn't see. I love capturing landscapes because it is like a movie scene for me playing with the texture or the sky or the water to create an effect or to play with the colors, I am addicted to magenta! Or playing with the composition to make your photo more dynamic. There is so many options and if you bring 10 photographers on the same spot they will all have a different photo at the end and I think this is what is magical about photography: communicating a message, an emotion that you had while taking the photo.
