Behind The Lens

Location

My flower garden.

Time

6:38 p.m.

Lighting

Early evening sunlight.

Equipment

Canon EOS 60D. F/5 1/400 ISO 160 Focal length: 165 mm Taken in RAW. I did not use a macro lens for this shot. I used a 70-300 so I would not have to get very close to the butterfly and scare it off.

Inspiration

Love taking pictures of butterflies!

Editing

Yes, but I'm not sure if I edited it in Lightroom.

In my camera bag

I am currently using a mirrorless Olympus camera. I am not very satisfied with it. As soon as possible, I am going to get a mirrorless Canon. I normally take two Olympus cameras with different lenses and a macro lens, extra batteries and SD cards.

Feedback

Lots of patience. I find the butterfly I want to shoot. I take one shot to test the settings I have. If needed I adjust the settings. Then I take a lot of photos as the butterfly changes positions and location on the flower.
