A road I've walked many times but this has to be the best shot I've had.

Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken along Singledge Lane in Whitfield. (UK) It overlooks a field that runs parallel with the A2 .

Time

Taken as the sun was setting it gave a great silhouette to the trees.

Lighting

It was just a case of right time, right place.

Equipment

It was taken on a Nikon D3100 with 18-55mm kit lens.

Inspiration

I walk down this road quite a bit as it leads to a wood at the end so I see this all the time and happened to be there just as the sun was setting over the trees.

Editing

There was some HDR involved to a degree. I copied the image to give me the 3 shots. Adjusted the exposure to 4 stops. It merged them together and when I pressed 'Tone mapping" this was the result so did nothing more to it.

In my camera bag

Nowadays I have a Nikon D3300, 18-135, 50mm, and a 70-300mm lens. Various filters including polariser and circular ND filter.

Feedback

Get to know your surroundings. This was taken within a 20 minute of where I lived. Try different times of day for different lighting.
