This was taken down at a rapid called Lunch Counter in the Snake River Canyon, Jackson WY.Time
It was super hot that day and there is very limited shade down on this specific section of the river. The whitewater was feeling amazing for the folks on the raft, and the rapid themselves were hitting really hard. The sun was high in the sky almost overhead. Pack your sunscreen.Lighting
All natural lighting.Equipment
I shot this on a Canon 7D, with an old, 70-200mm that my grandfather bough over 30 years ago. It's still in great shape, which is why I use it so much.Inspiration
I'm always looking for new types of action that I can shoot around the area. This is a great place that I knew I could hopefully shoot some people taking a dip! I usually go down and shoot the surfers that ride the wave of the wake. You have rafters floating down all day, everyday.Editing
I edited the basics is Photoshop's RAW editing program and that's it.In my camera bag
I always leave home with a 16-35mm 2.8f, 70-200mm, 28-135mm, and a nice ball head giotos tripod.Feedback
Dont be afraid to change up your angle. Dont feel like you have to stay in the same spot. By the time you get home all your shots will look the same!
