Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at the Montgomery Zoo in Montgomery, Alabama. We were in the bird aviary.

Time

This is one of my favorites images. We were in the bird aviary walking around, when all of a sudden, I see the Scarlet Ibis bathing itself. It was having a good time, so I just started snapping pictures. It was beautiful and seemed so happy. The picture was taken on May 3, 2016 at 2:10 p.m.

Lighting

It was a beautiful, sunny day, so no artificial lighting was needed.

Equipment

This was shot using a Sony DSLR-A350 camera with a Tamron 70-300 lens. No other equipment was needed.

Inspiration

I love taking pictures and capturing animals in motion is one of my favorite things to do. This ibis was so entertaining that I wanted to be able to share the moment with others.

Editing

There wasn't any post-processing done to the picture.

In my camera bag

I usually carry my camera, 2 lenses. One is the Tamron 70-300 and a Sony 18-70, extra batteries and another memory card so I don't miss any action.

Feedback

Watch for exciting moments everywhere you go. You never know when you'll get a chance to start taking some great pictures. It takes a lot of patience to get some of the greatest shots. Don't be afraid to try something new!
