Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken at Tower Bridge in central London. I was road side and used the motorcyclist to create more movement in the image.

Time

This was taken early morning around 8am. This i feel is the best time to shoot images in central London.

Lighting

Easy morning lighting is great for building photography. It allows the brickwork to really pop in the image. The sky is normally very picturesque in the mornings also.

Equipment

I used a Nikon D5200 SLR camera with a 35mm f1.8 prime lens. This was taken free hand with no tripod.

Inspiration

I love central London and building photography. Tower bridge is known around the world, and is great for HDR photography.

Editing

i used a series of exposures in bracketing mode so i could then post-process this image as HDR shot. This was post-processed using Adobe Lightroom.

In my camera bag

Nikon D5200 18-55mm Standard Lens 35mm f1.8 Prime Lens 50-200mm Zoom lens Tripod Water

Feedback

Early morning is the best time for this location. Pick your angle carefully to capture the scene at its best. Take a few shots of each angle. Focus on passing traffic. Try and shoot in landscape orientation unless you have to shoot in portrait. Remember..Anyone can take a picture, its knowing where to stand!
