Location
I took this photo in Heamheath Woods in Stoke on Trent. It's one of my favourite places to photograph because there's so many different objects/areas to see.Time
I think this photo was taken late evening, just before night fall. Me and a friend had gone on a dog walk and decided to go here first, we didn't leave until it was dark and couldn't physically take anymore photos!Lighting
I wanted this image to have a more mysterious/eerie feel to it so during editing I focused on shadowing and enhancing the deeper colours to do so.Equipment
This photo was taken with a Sony DSC-H200. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
I noticed this photograph opportunity when I turned to see where my friends dog had gone. I over the symmetry of the trees on either side of the path and although it was quite beautiful, it had a slightly eerie effect to it which I enjoyed. I couldn't pass up the chance to get a photo of this before leaving.Editing
I didn't do anything too dramatic with the original image to get it where it is now, I enhanced some of the more vibrant colours and some of the shadows to make it more dramatic, and I brightened the image as a whole so that more details could be seen with the first look.In my camera bag
Because my camera doesn't have any additional attachments (lenses/flash bulbs) I usually just pack my camera itself, a couple of sets of spare batteries (my camera takes 4 so I carry 8 around with me incase I spend longer than planned taking photos), and a spare memory card just in case worse comes to worst and I run out of memory on my 8gb card.Feedback
Honestly, the only sound advice I can give is to find something that inspires you and that you find beautiful. Nature photography isn't my preferred style (proof of that can be seen on my page) although occasionally I find the odd scene that really catches my eye. If you really like the look of something you're more likely to get better quality photographs - you notice all the small details and are able to focus on them better. Put your mind to it and you'll do wonderful! Good luck!
