Behind The Lens

Location

Pohkara, Nepal. It is a beautiful lakeside town in central Nepal

Time

It was in the afternoon, just before a rain storm.

Lighting

It was the last bit of sunshine before a heavy rainstorm came in. In fact, if I remember correctly, it started to rain about less than a minute after I shot this.

Equipment

My backup camera at the time was a Fujifilm X10. To this day, the camera has my respect.

Inspiration

At the time, I was doing an internship at the Rising Nepal Newspaper in Kathmandu, mostly covering protests and breaking news. I took a weekend off and headed out to Pohkara with other interns, and it was great to not have a deadline and shoot peaceful photos, haha.

Editing

I used a landscape pre-setting in the camera. I up'ed the contrast in post.

In my camera bag

Canon 5d mkii, Fujifilm X PRO 1, Canon 24-105mm F4 L, Canon 50mm F1.8, Sigma 150-500 f5.6, Fujifilm 35mm F1.4, and a few manual lenses.

Feedback

Break your comfort zone and go somewhere you have not been before-a lot more subjects will stick out to you.
