Family loves planes and wanted a photoshoot with them. I arranged everything. Found the manager of the airfield and talked him into taking my client up in the air.
Tried to get this shot SOOC, however the planes were so loud that the little girl was too scared to go up when the planes were overhead. So I too one of the girl up without the plane and one with just the plane and combined them to achieve this shot.

Location
We were at an airport in Forest Lake MN. I reached out to the manager and asked if we could do a session there.Time
This session was done before sunset.Lighting
I used natural light. The sun was camera left and low in the sky.Equipment
I shoot with a Nikon D610 and 24-70mm 2.8 Nikon lens.Inspiration
The family told me that they love planes and trains. I opted for the one that is less common to use for their session. I sat and brainstormed tons of creative ideas for this session. This one just turned out to be one of my favorites.Editing
I did do a sky swap and because the airplane was so loud I had to composite an image of the little girl up in his arms and an image of the airplane. She was too scared to do this while the plane was flying over head.In my camera bag
I have magnet modifiers in my bag along with 3 yongnuo flashes and extra batteries. I also bring a wescot 50x50 with me on location.Feedback
Be patient. Those planes are loud and can be quite scary for children to be around.
