A face only someone who has been around cattle could love. Great Shot!

Location
I met 04486 at the children farm, Børnebondegården, i the middle of Jultand nearby Horsens, when we were visiting it with my family. The farm has an ecological dairy production. Here 04486 curiously looked at me as any young human being able to see what is going on.Time
It's taken in the morgning 2016, 19th of July around 10:00Lighting
Lighting is natural, but there is a half roof over the calf. The roof is actually the side of the transport wagon, that's tilted up. The calf is situated close to the corner, so light falls on the animal.Equipment
The shot is taken with my old Canon 5D mark II fixed with an prime 50mm 1,4 shot at 4,5/320 - iso 500Inspiration
I find much of my inspiration in daily life, things I meet. I'm now a educated photojournalist. At the time this shot was taken, I was just starting the journey of my education at DMJX (the Danish school for media and journalism). My fascination of documenting daily life and feelings are part of this education. That has developed more while attending the school, which I finished two months ago. The fascination was already there before. Now I'm more aware of the possibilities for my photography.Editing
Obvouisly I turned this raw image to B/W. If I post-processed it now, it most probably would have a greater contrast, pulling some details to the front, and at the same time the extreme dark and light areas would get less detailed. The greyish feel to the shot compliments it well, but as with any post-processing, it the shot can be treated in many directions depending on the flavour of the day.In my camera bag
As I said this is shot with my old 5D markII, with a canon prime 1.4/50mm - the cheap one, excellent to have with as it is not that heavy. The camerabody weighs already, and with with a full equiped camera dangling in my black Rapid slingshot, it is nice to carry to much with me. For me the camera is a tool, so I have nearly always around my neck, not much in a bag. Do I have my bag by my side with my canon, I have 24-105mm, a prime 85mm and a 40mm pancake, sometimes with a canon flash 430.Feedback
As many photographers say, shoot when you see the shot. A mantra I've practiced for quiet so years, and one of the reasons I nearly never go from home without a camera. I'm not a fan of pocket or phone cameras, as I have need the size and weight of a camerabody so I can dive, so to say, behind and in my little photography world. This sounds like I'm distancing me through my lens. This is not the case, I'm very present when I shoot, communnicating with the people (if there) in front, and trying to make the situation as normal as possible. Carring the cam in a slingshot makes shooitng when it occurs very accessible.
