Location
This photo was taken in the National Chambal Wildlife Sanctuary in Uttar Pradesh on the banks of the Chambal river in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India.Time
This shot was taken early in the morning.Lighting
The angular light of the early morning sun reflects upon the water providing a balance lighting for photographing the week old wild gharial hatchlings.Equipment
The shooting of the extremely rare wild gharial (long snouted crocodile) hatchlings, less than a week old, entailed crawling on the edge of the sand on the river bank to get a direct view without scaring them. As such, I gave up my SLR camera and long lens for a normal Nikon Coolpix P520 camera. This photo was taken handheld as there was no scope of using a tripod without alarming the wild hatchlings.Inspiration
This is a rare shot and I am happy I got a nice shot.Editing
No.In my camera bag
I use a Canon DSLR with a Canon 100-400 lens. I also have a Nikon P900 for the long zoom photography such as birds.Feedback
Timing is the essence for wildlife photography.
