Location
Taken at the northern tip of Baffin Bay. We could see Ellesmere Island, Canada, to the west and Greenland to the east.Time

I regretted that the sun was directly behind us. Cross-lighting would have given more definition to the fur.Equipment
Nikon D100 with 80-400mm zoom, hand held.Inspiration
I was on a cruise in the high arctic above the arctic circle - the scenery was spectacular but the bears on the ice directly in front of the ship was an exciting bonus From Cambridge Bay and Grise Fiord, Canada, to Illulisat, GreenlandEditing
I was new to digital photography in 2005 and made the mistake of shooting the entire trip in jpeg. Being able to process in Adobe Camera Raw was a great help.In my camera bag
Nikon D700, 105mm macro, Sigma 10-20mm wide angle zoom, Nikon 18-300mm zoom, Nikon 80-400mm zoom, polarizing filters.Feedback
Double check your lens and ISO settings. I've made mistakes of this sort in the past when I'm in a rush and, when I saw the results, slapped myself on the side of the head so hard I saw stars.
