Delightful. Like the monotone background with depth. The kitty really pops out.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my home on our main staircase. Little Zip is one of three siblings that I rescued when they lost their mother. They were only about two weeks old at the time and this little guy was on top of a pile of logs watching for me. When he saw me, he immediately ran up to me and climbed up my legs. I guess it was love at first sight.

Time

Since I use natural light, I take photos in the daylight hours.

Lighting

I only use natural lighting.

Equipment

Nothing but a simple Nikon 3200, no special lighting etc.

Inspiration

Cats are always doing something worthy of a photo.

Editing

Only the simplest photo editing for contrast and light. Nothing more.

In my camera bag

I don't use anything but my Nikon 3200.

Feedback

What is the most important thing to me is capturing a 'feeling' with the image. I want the person who is viewing it to feel something. Do not try to do what others tell you to do or try to achieve a textbook photo. Simply look for what feels right to you. For me, simplicity is perfection.
