Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on the mountains near the golden gate bridge in San Francisco. Every photo has an adventure tied to it and this is one of my favorite adventures.

Time

I remember driving on the Golden Gate bridge and randomly stopping near the mountains to go hike for a better view. It was around one o'clock in the afternoon. Soon during the hike, it got super foggy and the aura of the environment changed into one of mystery with an almost haunting vibe.

Lighting

The environment was already crazy mysterious, the fog and dim lighting added to the effect. It reminds me of a never ending forest.

Equipment

This was shot on a Cannon camera, no other equipment was used.

Inspiration

This photo was not planned at all, I was just in the right place at the right time. My own feelings usually influence my photography so that day, the only thing influencing my photo were my emotions. I'll leave it up to others to interpret what I might have been feeling that day.

Editing

No post processing was done, I just corrected some white balance and contrast.

In my camera bag

I always pack my old Minolta AL camera along with my standard camera. I love the contrast between the two and holding the old 35 mm Minolta takes me back to another time.

Feedback

My only piece of advice is that I believe the best photography occurs during the most random of moments, on the wildest of adventures. The only thing you have to do is to make sure you are there to capture it, and that you are ready. One more thing, always look for a new adventure if you want amazing photos. Images are captured when you look for them, the perfect picture will not find you but you will find it.
