We had just taken ownership of our adorable little puppy back in December. It was Valentines Day and I had gone out and bought some roses. I set the flowers down and somehow the puppy had pulled the flowers off the table and became tangled in the ribbon. Once I finished laughing, I arranged what was left of the roses in a vase before my wife came home. Then I realized Archer was still tangled in the ribbon. I adjusted the ribbon around him so he would look cute for my wife. He had the saddest look on his face because he knew he had screwed up. When I tried to take his picture, he started to run away. I picked him up and set him down. The flowers just happened to be behind him. I knew it was going to be a great picture if he would only sit still. To my surprise, he sat down and gave me one of the most pathetic looks I have ever seen. This picture is the finished product. Not bad for a spur of the moment snap.Time

You can plan and position and check lighting levels, but then sometimes is just happens. When that moment comes, don’t overthink it. Get the picture before the scene changes. If your pictures are set to raw, you can make any corrections afterward. Just get the shot. It especially true with animals and with little children.
