Behind The Lens
Location
This was taken on the family farm. A large portion of the farm is old growth pine trees. This was just off a path through the woods. The mushroom growing out of a decaying stump was a beautiful picture of death and new life. Just couldn't pass it by.Time
I always took my mother's dogs for a walk around 11 am. Walking through the woods was a cooler option than the direct sunlight during warm summer days in lower Alabama.Lighting
It was in a shaded little glen, and I wanted to share this little piece of beauty.Equipment
I used the camera on my Galaxy S4 on the macro setting. Didn't edit the photo in any other way.Inspiration
You must always be on the look out for those quiet moments of unexpected beauty. It was such a peaceful setting, yet spoke to me of the joy you can find in troubling circumstances.Editing
I didn't do any post-processing.In my camera bag
I always have my phone..... If the scene warrants a second shot, then I make plans to bring another camera.Feedback
Don't miss the small stuff! There is much to see out there and many times we miss the small intimacies that make up the whole.
