I have driven past this field of poppies twice a day, every day for the last three weeks. It's only in the early morning light that these poppies are visible from the road. The low morning light shines through the petals, highlighting them and turning the field into a richly jeweled meadow. Returning the same route on the evening it's almost impossible to find the field, as the light no longer illuminates the red, papery petals. Taken early morning in late July. Location: North Yorkshire countryside, just outside of York.
