Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was taken was taken from laying on the floor of my lounge with the shot being taken facing out to our courtyard cottage garden while living in Fiordland

Time

This was taken mid morning in May 2015

Lighting

Lighting wasn't an issue here with this shot as my aim was to get the closest shot possible of the bird with bird feeding on the lavender husks

Equipment

The camera I am currently using is the Canon 5D Mark III, with a Canon 70-200 lens

Inspiration

Typically birds are not the easiest thing to shoot and have been long fascinated with trying gather the patience of getting a really top shot

Editing

There was not a lot of processing involved with this shot, mainly bringing some sharpness and clear colour to the bird

In my camera bag

I normally carry a Canon 5D MkIII and a Canon 7D, the 7D with my go to lenses being a 400 and 24-105

Feedback

Patience is the key for shooting birds to get that ideal shot.
