Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photograph on a walk in London, and my first thought was that it was just another dreary day, so I was trying to find a small bit of beauty through the rain, I stopped as I was plodding along when I saw this beautiful rose that had drops of rain just sitting so on it’s petals, and I marvelled are the natural beauty before me and tried to capture it. The original photograph was just an ordinary photograph and nothing really stood out about it to me, so I was trying to see if changing the developing would enhance or re-capture what it was I was trying to in the first place, so this is a negative

Time

It was shortly after noon when I saw the raindrops just sitting beautifully upon the petals of the rose. I just was being awed by the beauty of such a site; in the midst of this dull day was something so beautiful that seemed to sap the dullness from me and put me in an awe inspiring mood.

Lighting

There was no need for lighting as I just wanted to capture the beautiful nesting of the raindrops on the rose as they were.

Equipment

No flash, no tripod (just a very steady hand), and no extra lighting or otherwise, just my trusty Samsung note phone.

Inspiration

As I stated earlier, it was such a dull and dreary day, that once I happened upon this beautiful flower with the raindrops perched so neatly where they were, I couldn’t help but to see the beauty even through darkness. There is always something brilliant that develops through a negative, and that was the positive out of the negative that day.

Editing

The only thing that I did with this photograph, was to develop it as a negative.

In my camera bag

I usually don’t carry any equipment, as I’m just a person who has a hobby for photography, not a pro.
