I took this picture in my backyard. It had been raining for a few days and I had been really wanting to play with my new 100 mm canon macro lens. I decided to venture out and found this dandelion puff untouched so I decided to just play around and this was the first shot I got. I've been around photography my whole life as my dad is a professional photographer. I've always been playing with his old cameras and watching what he does.Time
It had been a long day at work and I wanted to go to my happy place that evening so my camera and I headed out back to see what there was to play with.Lighting
It was overcast that day and I used natural light.Equipment
I used a Canon 7d with a 100 mm macro lensInspiration
I love to find the small things in nature that often go overlooked. It's because of these small pieces that make up the big picture.Editing
I honestly didn't do much Photoshopping with this picture. I only cropped it slightly and I knew it would really come to life in black and white. In my camera bag
I always have my Canon 7d, Canon 5d, and a backup camera just in case (my dad drilled that into me to always have a backup!), my Canon 15-85 mm as my everyday lens, 100 mm lens, canon 16-35 mm lens, tripod, and of course the basics like a cleaning cloth, extra batteries etc.Feedback
My best advice is to just go out into your own backyard or local park and just have fun. The more you enjoy taking pictures you can fine tune what you want your view to be. Sometimes the best pictures just happen when you aren't trying.
