Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the mountains of Baja California during the hummingbird migration-This Allen's female was stopping to feed to continue her long journey North.

Time

I love the late day light that gives shadows and highlights the subtle colors of these beautiful birds.

Lighting

Late day, watch your shadows and highlights!

Equipment

Canon 6D handheld Tamron 150-600G2 no flash

Inspiration

The beauty of these amazing little balls of feathers

Editing

Cropped

In my camera bag

All I have is an older Canon 6D, my 150-600 G2 Tamron zoom and a 24-70 Canon lens, two batterios, and a charger, one ND6 filter and an old fabulously stable manfrotto tripod. I'd love to have new things but they are pricey, I work within my budget and hope to get a wide angle lens soon!

Feedback

Be patient, sit and watch, learn behaviors, take lots of pictures, don't be afraid to experiment with angles and light!
