This photo was taken a few blocks from my apartment in Brooklyn, NY. I used to visit this lady's garden nearly every day. People think of New Yorkers as rude, but if you are tamping through their garden they don't seem to mind...too much.Time
I normally take my camera everywhere I go, my husband says I look like a tourist. The dog needed to go out for a walk so I tied her to my belt and off we went. It was about 8am on a beautiful spring morning and it had rained the night before.Lighting

Because I'm from the city, you are very limited on your subjects, many of the flowers in my profile came from this particular garden. All I can say is that I got lucky that they both appeared and the timing was right. 30 years ago I had a little SLR Minolta and I loved photography. When I moved from California to New York my camera broke. Six months ago, my husband picked up this Pentax for me with 2 kit lenses and I've had a blast ever since. Everything inspires me, especially the city. I'm still trying to develop my niche and style, give it another 20 years and I might acquire one! So much of the photography on Viewbug inspires me, the talent on this site is incredible. I love the challenges and sometimes go out on a mission for an image to submit.Editing
I shoot RAW, and did very little processing, just a little cropping and exposure correction. I'm still learning photoshop, so my images have very little processing.In my camera bag
In my bag, I carry my 2 kit lenses, a 18-55mm and the 55-200mm. My favorite lens is my 10-17mm fisheye. A tripod is a must, a spare battery, polarizer, and ND filter. I also carry an extra SD card.Feedback
The only advice I can give for a shot like this is to open your eyes, be patient, and fast. Carry your camera everywhere, you never know what you will capture.
