Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Nature Park in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. I am a passionate self taught photographer. I have learned how to master light as it is a key component in the art of photography.

Time

This photo was taken around the afternoon 4pm as the sun was going down. Used much of the sun light through the tree canopy to put my subjects to the portrait.

Lighting

I used much of the afternoon lights passing through the tree canopy to aim at my subjects in this photograph. Lighting is very much a key component in drawing the viewers attention to the story of the photograph.

Equipment

This was shot on a Panasonic FZ35 zoom lens 30 x optical camera. Didn't use flash or tripod.

Inspiration

What inspired me to capture this was my tribal culture here in Papua New Guinea. We do have a rich and diverse culture that's why my photography is based around people, culture and landscape.

Editing

I mainly use Adobe Lightroom in mostly all of my photography. I usually use this software purposely for correcting lighting and colour. No Adobe Photoshop used.

In my camera bag

The main gear I have in my bag is my Panasonic FZ35 lumix zoom lens camera where ever I go.

Feedback

My advice is always be patient when capturing moving objects and try as much to get the correct lighting. The best time to shoot is around early morning and afternoons when the sun rises and sets.
