This photo was taken at a newborn shoot in a clients home, I love natural light and set this little one up in front of a large window, in their living room,the back of my back drop is actually draped over their dragons aquarium.Time
The photo I believe was taken after noon when the sun would come in that window with out casting shadowsLighting
There was no flash or studio lighting usedEquipment
This image I believe may have been taken with my Nikon D5200 and a 50 mm 1.8 lensInspiration
I am always looking for new ways to photograph newborns that are maybe not typical of what you would get at an in store photography studio,something a little different or uniqueEditing
The only post process that was done was to sharpen, contrast and vignetteIn my camera bag
I usually have dog treats ,lens cleaner ,squeaky toys ,stickers, zip lock bags for the ethereal looking photos, lenses, filters , hot shoe flash, and extra sd cardsFeedback
Doing newborns is hard, the baby is the boss, make sure baby is fed,the room is warm, if you're not sweating, the room. Is not warm enough, clean your hands, and always ask Mom if she is comfortable with you handling the baby. Ask about , parents hobbies, profession, recreation,by doing so it allows you to be creative and give them something they will love.
