Location
I took this shot from the sunset deck of a condo in Sandestin Florida.Time
This is one of a series of photos I took that day just around sunset.Lighting
The combination of the glow in the clouds above the sun and the reflection off the water really appealed to me.Equipment
This was a handheld shot with a Nikon Coolpix P90.Inspiration
Sunsets in the Sandestin area are a hit or miss proposition. The combination of the colors, glowing clouds, and water reflection was an unexpected and welcome surprise.Editing
Other than cropping the photo, this is how it came out of the camera. In my camera bag
Right now I'm carrying a small Sony DSC-RX100. It's such a great camera for the size and the Zeiss lens is amazing. The glue-on filter adapter makes it possible to use filters unlike many cameras is this class.Feedback
The great thing about shooting sunsets is that there are so many possible chances to get an interesting shot. Pay attention to the weather (this one was taken after some afternoon thunderstorms rolled through) and try to find a location that will allow you to shoot from various heights/angles.
