Behind The Lens
Location
This was taken at the Ozark Sectionals of the USAU (USA Ultimate) College Post Season, which our school hosted.Time
Taken around mid-day.Lighting
The sun was behind me, which allowed me to have enough lighting directly on the subject.Equipment
I used a Nikon D3300 with the 55-200 Nikon lens.Inspiration
I saw the disc go up, and knew that a big play was about to take place. I made sure I was in the right place at the right time and snapped a couple of photos. Luckily one of them was good!Editing
I used just the stock photo editor which came with my computer. It allowed me to change the saturation of the colors a little, as well as make the picture a little warmer. I also used the selective focus function to really highlight the players and blur out the rest of the background. In my camera bag
I usually carry my d3300 with the 18-55 kit lens and the 55-200 Nikon lens. I also have a couple of spare batteries and an SD card. I have a remote trigger for some of the night shots I take. For night pictures I have a pretty basic tripod I take out.Feedback
I would suggest just really analyzing what the players are doing to try to position yourself in the right position. Also, anticipating the flow of action, and trying to predict what will happen is essential, as it allows you to be in the general area of the play. Also, having a decent zoom lens is a must as it allows you a little buffer in case you're not in the perfect spot.
