Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Florida near Viera.

Time

The sun was setting and this shot was taken looking east as the sun set colors filled the sky. I could see the rainbows and decided to stop and take some shots.

Lighting

This shot was taken with all natural light so really nothing to say about lighting, just timing of the shot with the setting sun.

Equipment

Canon T5i with the Canon EF-S 18-200mm lens.

Inspiration

I was visiting with my mom and we were enjoying the sunset while driving when I saw the rainbow. I could not believe the sky was so full of color and decided to pull over to get my camera out of the trunk. It was a fairly good wide open space to see the sky on both sides of the road.

Editing

This shot came to life in post editing using Adobe Photoshop Elements 13. The shot needed some color correction and enhancement to bring up the wide range of colors in the clouds that evening.

In my camera bag

The Canon T5i camera with 4 lenses with filters (UV and Circular Polarizer filters) Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM Lens (just purchased in June- Great results), Canon EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Auto Focus Lens (used 90% of my photos and always on the camera), Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM Wide Angle Lens Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM AF Lens. Canon Speedlite 430EXII Flash

Feedback

This was a very unique evening sky but I believe if you are watching a great sun set, take a few minutes to look the other way and see what reflections are happening in the clouds. You may just catch a very interesting photo.
