Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at my college studio in Doncaster, this was apart of my final project that got my into University

Time

The image was taken early afternoon during college session

Lighting

I wanted the lighting in this photo shoot to be low key to enhance nice shadows and highlights on the model, making the image abstract and beautiful

Equipment

This was shot on a Nikon D90 with a 18-105mm lens!

Inspiration

My inspiration came from photographer Marina Matthews who also did a project on the human form, my final project at college was based on exploring visual language elements within the human form photographs

Editing

In order to get the perfect lighting, I did a few test shoots experimenting with the angle of the lighting to create the perfect spotlight on the model

In my camera bag

I always have plenty of memory cards in my bag that's very important to back up my work! I always carry a spare lens and a lens cleaner!

Feedback

To capture low key abstract images when working in the studio it's always best to stick to one light and a dark backdrop, I'd advise to use a softbox they're great!
