Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken a few years ago, during a visit to Monserrate Palace in Sintra (Portugal). The projection of the lights in the carvings caught my attention and it was so beautiful that I had to capture it.

Time

It was in a summer afternoon I believe, the weather was amazing which is not easy to find there since it's a high place and therefore there's usually a foggy and cloudy atmosphere

Lighting

I capture the natural lights of the atmosphere inside the palace in order to capture it in a natural way, without extra lighting

Equipment

I only used my old camera (Sony), it is a model with a non-removable lens.

Inspiration

It just happened. I was visiting this palace and when I looked up I was confronted with such a peaceful beauty that it was breathtaking.

Editing

No, I didn't post any processing because at that time I didn't edit my photos because I didn't know any free photo editor and I liked the photo so much that I would feel it was a shame altering its natural colours. So at that time I did my best while shooting, since the photos wouldn't be edited later.

In my camera bag

Normally just the camera and a couple of SD cards because I tend to take a lot of photos

Feedback

Find a comforting angle that helps you to capture what you are seeing and feeling in that moment in the best way. Capture it with your eyes, heart and camera
