Location
The photo was taken at James Proncep Ghat, Kolkata, India on the river banks of the Ganges. The Bridge is the Vidyasagar Setu that connects the two main city (Kolkata and Howrah) of West Bengal,India .Time
This is may be one of the best photo I ever captured . It was captured 5:30 PM on a winter afternoon. Me and one of my friend was there for some sunset shot shot on that day. But never thought that I could managed to get that. May be I was little bit of lucky. I was waiting for the sunset, there were pretty good clouds in the sky. But those were not too interesting to shot.I took couple of test shots. But all of a sudden that sailor came in front of my frame and the sun rays came - all came at the right time. And I captured that one.Lighting
Lighting was great on that day. There were clouds on the sky. Those cloud's patterns were pretty good. I also had the bridge in frame. So, there were many subjects to complete that shot. But the sun rays gave the picture a better look. And I love sunsets to be more warmer. So, I increased the warm tone a little bit on post processing and I got what I wanted.Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon D3200 and a Nikon AF-S 18-55mm f/ 3.5-5.6 kit lens. No flash or tripod used .Inspiration
Generally I love every sunset or sunrise shot. On that day , before this shot, I also captured some sunset shots. But the clouds' patterns , the sailor and the boat convert a good picture to a beautiful Photograph.Editing
Yap. Firstly I had to set the horizon line straight. The I done some cropping . And increased the warm tone and the clarity little bit more. As I focused the sun , so the lower part of the picture were little bit unexposed . So I used the Gradient Tool in Adobe Camera raw to bring back the light on the lower part of the photograph. In my camera bag
I normally have my Nikon D3200 and Nikon 18-55 mm kit lens on my bag on every time I go for shooting . And some time I take the Tamron 70-300 mm with me for telephoto landscape shot .There is a normal remote shutter release , a normal SImplex Tripod and ND 4 and ND8 filters with me all the time .Feedback
Only one things matters - Keep Shooting. In landscape photography you can not expect a very good shot on each time you are out for photography. May there will be wind, cloud, rain on that day . But you have to go again and again. We need every things in the perfect position at the perfect time - that makes a snapshot to a photograph. Go to the same place again and again, only then someday you can capture the most beautiful picture of that Place. So never give up. And lastly but important , TRUST AND BELIEVE THAT YOUR CAMERA IS THE BEST. Don't think that your camera can not do or take better photograph. Always remember that your eyes are the main things and the cameras are just a tool to capture the view.
