Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on the balcony in the penthouse one of my friend lives in, he threw a party and dancer as he is he invited lots of friends over that also could dance, one of which had these shoes with built in lighting.

Time

This photo is taken late at night when everybody was up and dancing.

Lighting

His shoes really does the job.

Equipment

This was shot using my Sony A7II with the Sony 50mm 1.8 lens, small package but packs a punch!

Inspiration

It was hard putting down the camera when the shoes started to light up the dance floor, i was simply stunned.

Editing

Nothing major, increased contrast and some noise reduction.

In my camera bag

My Sony A7II, with a 50mm prime, also from Sony, and a Lensbender. The lensbender is a funny thing, it allows me to use older lenses without an andapter, such as an ancient Nikon 35-70mm meant for 35mm film cameras. Basically what it does is hold the lens in place in front of the sensor without it being attached to the body. Kind of like freelensing, but freehand. Heh. :)

Feedback

First of all, the shoes. Were it not for the shoes the lighting would be off, you would only have a silhouette of someone dancing. Which can be great, too, if you're after that. But some small secondary light source (as shoes) can be great for bringing some depth and motion into the picture.
