Location
Towards the top of Fairbrook, on the slopes of Kinder Scout, in the peak district (uk)Time
Around 6am, i'd left the house before 4am to be at Fairbrook to catch the sunrise around 5am. Unfortunately it was thick cloud cover and drizzle,so no sun shots.Lighting
The conditions were quite dark, as it was early with heavy clouds. Quite good for shooting waterfalls, though. I set up my tripod, along with a circular polariser and was able to use a 10s exposure to reveal the swirl of the water.Equipment
Nikon D5300, sigma 10-20mm lens, hoya circular polariser, sirui tripod.Inspiration
I've recently got into shooting long exposures, as it reveals patterns and details that you don't see with any other method! I jump at any chance i can spend some time doing long exposures.Editing
Just the usual levels adjustments that raw image need. I do all processing in Lightroom. In my camera bag
Nikon D5300 & D3200, sigma 10-20mm, nikkor 18-55mm, tamron 70-300mm, srb nd filters, hoya cpl, sirui tripod, peak design capture carrying system (x2). Plenty of hiking supplies and safety kit...just in case!Feedback
Use your imagination to try work out the motion your hoping to capture before framing it. Use a tripod and keep the lens and filters scrupulously clean. Try to shoot for yourself...dont just try coping others work. Above all...just have fun!
